You are invited to celebrate with us the special launch of the Manchester Women’s Words Archive.
For many of you, we first met either in person or online because of the Women’s Words project. This was a little bit like my baby, and it took us, the steering committee, almost two and half years to birth, from the time of its initial idea to funding and launch.
Well, the collection of stories, the workshops, the gala Suffragette Tea Party, all of it was done during what now seems a long time ago. Many of you might be thinking that the project is done, dusted and gone, but this isn’t true. And now, we are coming to another stage in the project, where the stories we’ve collected are finally ready to be a part of the Manchester Libraries and Archives collection at the Central Library. So if you’ve been reading about this project, or are a participant who sent in an entry, do come along on the 28th and celebrate with us. You’ll be able to see your words in the archive, share your experiences and catch up with us again.
You will be able to view the contributions of women from across the city, share stories and map your involvement in this amazing project.
